Here is an interesting article and some IELTS reading practice questions I have written. Answers below.

Answer True, False or Not Given to the following statements.

  1. The original study was designed to look at brain function of a thousand Americans.
  2. After 15 years of the study, Mr Elias started looking at what the participants ate.
  3. The research found that eating chocolate every day helped with remembering details better and multitasking.
  4. Only clever people were included in the study.
  5. The scientists are sure it is the flavanols in the chocolate that make the brain work better.

In the exam, 5 questions should take you about 6-7 minutes after you have skimmed the passage.

Don’t get stuck answering a question. Guess and move on.

Make sure you answer using the right word i.e. ‘true’ not ‘yes’

Take note of superlative or extreme key words like ‘always’, ‘never’, ‘best’, ‘every’, ‘certain’
